Vernacular Visions 20. A 35mm slideshow of found photographs featuring live improvised music

  • Center for New Music 55 Taylor Street San Francisco, CA, 94102 United States (map)

The first installment in a series of screenings that Vernacular Visions* will be doing as part of a 3 month residency at the Center for New Music (September - November), co-curated by Justin Rhody and Tania Chen.

At each performance a 35mm slideshow of found photographs will be projected while two small groupings of musical improvisers (from both Oakland and San Francisco) interpret & accompany the images with a live soundtrack. At the end of the night there will be a collaborative set between all of the musicians (who have never performed together prior and most likely do not even know each other).
